Gaila Designs Frequently Asked Questions Contact Us Gaila Designs, established in Fresno, CA in 1991 specializes in fabric-based interior design.  We create  draperies, bedding, pillows & cushions, slipcovers, table coverings, most anything made of fabric for  your home.  Additional services offered include custom embroidery and monogramming, needlework  finishing, and eReader and iPad/tablet computer covers through Etsy.  Operating as a designer and a  fabrication studio, your project is handled personally from design sketch to the last stitch, providing  you with the quality and style you expect from a custom project. FAQ's What is Gaila Design's fee structure? Gaila Designs charges an hourly fee for design time including in- home consultation, searching for fabrics and trims, graphic art previews and shopping for related items.  Once the project is agreed upon, a contract is drawn outlining the cost to fabricate the design. What do custom window treatments cost? There is a great variation in cost from one window to the next but you can expect that each window will cost a minimum of $500-800.  Full length panels and multiple layered designs will increase the cost.  There is a vast array of prices for fabrics and hardware, it is always helpful to have a budget in mind for your project. Are slipcovers less expensive than re-upholstery? No, in fact slipcovers can be more expensive than upholstery.  This is because slipcovers are fully finished on the inside (so they can be removed and cleaned) and require more sewing than upholstery I already have fabric selected, can you help me decide on an appropriate design? While Gaila Designs has thousands of samples to choose from (much more than are available through local retailers) you don't have to purchase from our collection.  Design services are offered for an hourly fee, and fabrication (sewing) service is offered for a set contract fee. I know exactly what I want and have the fabric ready to go, can you sew it? Fabrication only projects are welcome.  The project is priced based on the style you have selected.  Simply bring the fabric to the studio and when the project is complete you can pick it up.  Pick up and delivery to or from your home are available for an additional charge.  Gaila Designs can provide high quality drapery lining, hardware, duvet and pillow inserts, cushion inserts, and other workroom supplies as needed for the project. What if I need help to put the finished treatment on the window? Gaila Designs works with professional installers to put your treatments up accurately and securely. Does Gaila Designs accept Credit Cards? Yes!  If you have an email address, we can invoice you via PayPal billing.  There is a discount for check or cash payment, but credit card billing is offered for your convenience.  Etsy orders can only be paid via PayPal.
